A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of vibrant red, blue, navy, orange, coral, gray, and ivory. It has a hexagonal shaped medallion with a crenelated border on a vibrant red field patterned with lobbed flowers, angular leaves, boteh, and diamond shapes. It has blue spandrels with pink geometric floral forms and a carnation meander main border. This is bracketed on either side with multi-colored barber pole guard borders. It has fringe to either end and it is marked to the verso ‘Made in Iran’.
