A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of vibrant orange, rust-red,taupe brown, gray,burgundy,and white. It features a hexagonal medallion with a large angular floral design and pendants with hooked borders. The taupe-brown field is patterned with geometric leaf motifs, lobbed flowers, and a bright orange sawtooth border. The red colored spandrels are patterned with eight pointed stars and angular flowers. The main border features a floral vine motif framed on either side with boteh patterned guard borders. It has fringe to either end and it is marked ‘Made in Iran’.
