A hand-knotted Tabriz pictorial wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a vibrant palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, ivory, saffron, rose, rust, slate, olive, and teal. The elaborate cranberry colored field features a central flower shaped pendant medallion flanked by colorful bird motifs, along with an all-over herati pattern. Framing the field is an ornate scalloped border featuring vases, birds and an abundance of floral and foliate motifs, as well as a floral meander guard border. Finishing this beautiful rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
