Item Details
A gouache painting on paper of a face attributed to listed German artist Herbert Spangenberg (1907-1984). This work depicts a shadowy face with wide eyes, the lips frozen into a slight smile. This work is signed and dated ‘Spangenberg ’61’ to its lower right corner and is double-matted under glass in a slim wooden frame with a hanging wire to its verso along with text noting the date and artist’s name.
Condition
- fair; wear and scratches to frame finish; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly.
