A vintage 1944 Rookwood Pottery owl bookend, originally designed by William McDonald, an early Rookwood artist. This bookend features a brown on brown, matte glaze, depicting an owl perched on top of an overturned book. It is signed to the bottom with Rookwood emblem, shape number 2655, XLIV, and William McDonald’s artist initials stamp.
