A vintage engraving on paper titled The Entombment by S. Amsler after Italian High Renaissance painter Raphael (1483 – 1520). This piece depicts Jesus’ disciples carrying his body with a cross on a hill in the distance and a decorative border to the lower edge. Publication information is in plate beneath the image. The work is presented under glass in a gold tone wood frame with hooks to the verso for hanging.

Condition

- chips and loss to decoration on frame; glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; mark in red to upper right of glass; foxing to paper and toning toward edges.
