A semi-antique handwoven Chinese wool accent rug. The rug has a navy blue background populated with flowering trees and flying birds in shades of ecru, off white and medium blue. To the top of the field in a money in a flowering lotus tree, with a cloud formation to the upper right corner, the tree rising up from a rock formation. To the bottom of the rug’s field in a landscape with stag and rock formations. The rug has a major border with ecru medallions filled with blue flowers, alternating with traditional Chinese motifs and arabesque forms. The rug is finished to both ends with off white warp fringe.
