An antique hand-knotted Malayer Sarouk wool accent rug. The rug has an alizarin red background populated with mirrored floral vases and overall arabesque and foliate design in shades of blue gray, medium blue, off white, black and celadon green. The rug has a complex compound border with a dark major border in a flower and foliate pattern, flanked by a pair of blue gray guard stripes in a floral meander motif. The rug has off white warp fringe to both ends.
