A hand-knotted wool Dagestani tribal area rug. This wool pile rug features geometric and animal designs throughout in a palette of in black, wine, blue, pink and cream, having a distinctive calyx and leaf primary border in the field colors. It is finished with knotted short light gray goat hair fringe on either end and thickly overcast edges. Unmarked.
