Asian Black Lacquered Chest

Item Details

An Asian black lacquered chest having a domed lid over a case fitted with bail hardware on the sides and a center-set hinged closure to the front. The chest is hand painted with multiple figures, patterns and small motifs, primarily in gold and red on a black lacquered ground. The interior is paper lined and the case stands on bracket feet.
