Russian Hand-Painted Trinket Boxes
Item Details
A group of two vintage, circa 1990s, Russian lacquered and hand-painted trinket boxes. The wood boxes are lacquered in black, with red interiors. The tops and sides are hand-painted with intricately rendered scenes of people and horses. One box is hexagonal and one is rectangular. Both have lids, and are signed in Russian. A paper that comes with the boxes identifies them as being by Palekh, Mstera, Kholni and Fedoskino.
Condition
to fair:
- crack to interior finish of smaller box
- both have light surface marks
