Asian Style Wood Chest

Item Details

An Asian style wood chest with brass hinged lid. The chest is decorated to the lid and front with relief carvings. The carving to the lid features people in a circular archway with stairs leading to a waterfront with piers, buildings and trees In the background. The carving to the front of the chest features people in a circular archway which opens on to a walkway with tress, buildings and mountains in the background. The chest has a brass latch to the front and is marked to the lid with the label ‘George Zee & Co., Kiln Dried Art Carved Furniture Manufacturers, 12.27 Miramar Arcade, Kimberly Road, Kowloon, H.K., Made IN Hong Kong, No. 69 1065 82’.

Condition

- There are scratches and marks to the surface of the chest. The key to the lock is missing.
