A collection of opera books and libretti with a metronome. This collection includes six paperback libretto booklets for operas such as The Magic Flute and Falstaff, including four booklets published by the Metropolitan Opera. The collection also includes a Seiko quartz metronome with a soft case and three hardcover books: A Treasury of Grand Opera, edited by Henry W. Simon (New York: Simon and Schuster, c. 1946); A Treasury of Gilbert and Sullivan: The Words and the Music of One Hundred and Two Songs from Eleven Operettas, edited by Deems Taylor (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1941); and a first edition of a picture book based on the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta H.M.S. Pinafore, adapted by Opal Wheeler and illustrated by Fritz Kredel (New York: E. P. Dutton and Co., 1946).
