G. Hunt Hand-Colored Engraving on Paper "Billiards"
Item Details
A hand-colored engraving on paper titled Billiards by G. Hunt after a work by British artist E. F. Lambert (1790 – 1846), printed in 1827. The work depicts multiple figures gathered around a billiard table with soft coloring and fashion styles of the time period. To the bottom margin, the work is credited, dated, and titled in plate. The print is presented under glass with a decorative and a stained wooden frame.
Condition
- some scratches and wear to the frame; glass could benefit from a cleaning; some staining and foxing to both the mat and paper.
