Art Nouveau Style Silver-Plated Cloth Brushes with Other Vanity Items
Item Details
A pairing of Art Nouveau style silver-plated clothes brushes. Both pieces have silver-plated handles with relief decorations and bristles on the other side. This includes one with a woman figure and floral design that is marked ‘45 D.S. Co. Pat. June 4 1904’ and another floral accented brush with a ‘Hope Silver Co.’ mark used by G.W. Parks Co. of Providence, RI (active 1910s-1920s). They are presented with a small soft round case in blue and a pink plastic powder container.
Condition
- good to fair; brushes are in fair condition; moderate to significant surface wear including marks, scratches, and overall tarnishing; bristles have discoloration and are frayed; minor edge wear and dust to blue fabric case; minor marks and scratches to pink plastic container
