Item Details
An oil painting on velvet of a matador signed, ‘Ruiz’. This painting features a bullfighting scene against a black field. It depicts a man in an ornate costume confronting a bleeding bull with the use of his red cape. The painting is signed by hand in paint to the lower left corner. It is presented without glass in a carved wooden frame.
Condition
- wear throughout frame’s finish; dust accumulation present on frame; minor tears to velvet; tears to the upper edge revealing wooden backing; canvas is slightly misaligned in frame; loose frame joints; paint residue to the verso.
