Antique Belmont Aesthetic Movement Silver Plate Spooner

Item Details

A late 19th century silver plate spooner by the Belmont Plate Co, a subsidiary of the Belmont Silver Company. In the Aesthetic style, this features a stepped dome lid topped with a bird shaped finial, that sits above a pedestal urn shaped body. It has an intricate die-pressed foliate arabesque around the shoulders below the spoon holders, and arching openwork handles. It is marked underneath ‘Belmont Plate Co. Triple Plate 246’.

Condition

- fair; some surface wear with scratches and some significant tarnishing; missing three spoon holders on one side.
