An aquatint on paper titled Pals by Frances Marian Hebert (California/Iowa; 1899 – 1960), created in 1937. The print depicts two large fluffy cats, one black and one white, posed next to other another. The work is signed and dated to the lower right corner in graphite. The print is presented matted under glass in a wooden frame with wire hanger to the verso.

In the 1930s, Frances Marian Hebert worked under the California WPA producing aquatints. She is remembered as an educator as well as an artist having taught in the Art Department at Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, Texas from 1946 to 1957. Her work has been represented at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the New York World’s Fair, among many other venues.
