A pastel drawing titled Pink Poppy by Contemporary Chinese artist Tsun Ming Chmielinski, created in 2005. This work depicts the underside of a poppy. This piece is signed and dated by hand to the lower left. To the verso, is an informative label providing the title. This work is presented behind glass in a white mat and wood frame. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Tsun Ming Chmielinski is a Chinese artist raised in Hong Kong. Chmielinski moved to the United States in the 1970s and has a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an Master’s degrees in business from Bentley University and Emerson College. She received art training at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Massachusetts College of Art where she studied drawing and painting. Ming currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work holds influences from Chinese culture, particularly Sumi-e ink wash painting, as well as Western subjects including portraits and still life.
