Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Turkish Oushak Area Rug

A Turkish Oushak area rug. This circa 1950 wool rug features three sets of swirling branches with interstitial diamonds in charcoal over a speckled camel field. The field is framed by compound borders, including a herati main border incorporating meandering flowers and small palmettes over camel. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
