A semi-antique handwoven Sarouk wool area rug. The room-sized rug is designed with a central field of red, with an overall population of floral medallions and arabesque foliate swags in shades of cobalt blue, cream, gold, celadon green, black and olive green. The complex, compound border features __carnation_guard borders with a wide main border of elongated palmettes, scrolling acanthus leaves and lotus flowers. The rug has hand knotted cream warp fringe to each end. An original tag is affixed to the verso.
