Shreve, Crump & Low Sterling Silver Divided Dish and French Salt Cellar

A Shreve, Crump & Low sterling silver divided trinket dish with hinged lid and ornate acanthus motifs. Marked to the underside with impressed marks. An Edwin Thompson imported salt cellar to London in 1896. The ‘F’ in the oval is a foreign silver importation mark. This French piece was already an antique when it was brought to England. Worn hallmark appears to be for the city of Lille, 1780-1789. The total approximate weight is 4.525 ozt.
