Hartford Silver Plate Japanese Inspired Aesthetic Movement Ice Water Pitcher
Item Details
An antique silver plate ice water pitcher by Hartford Silver Plate Co. (c.1891 – 1898, Hartford, CT). This pitcher features a Japanese inspired aesthetic movement depicting bands of chased bamboo and leaves around the top and base of the body, with chased flowers to the finial, spout, handle. The body also features engraved depictions of flowers, foliage, and a singe bird perched on a tree branch, as well and an ocean landscape in a medallion framed by a zigzag and dotted border, lattice pattern, and scrolls. There is an ice lip on the interior with a tapered spout and hinged lid. The underside is stamped, ‘Hartford Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate, 1350’.
