1814 Matthew West Irish Sterling Silver Teaspoons

A group of three 1814 Irish sterling silver rat-tail teaspoons by Matthew West. The terminals of the spoons have etched designs of a cubit arm erect, in hand, a pine tree eradicated. The impressed marks to the underside include: M. West impressed maker’s mark, four character hallmark identification (1814 ‘S’, Sterling Standard, City of Dublin, King’s reign mark), impressed ‘RW’ above the hallmarks, and inscribed ‘W.O.’ below all of the marks. The total approximate weight is 3.465 ozt.
