Antique George III Octagonal Cellarette
Item Details
An antique George III octagonal cellarette, circa late 18th to early 19th century. The mahogany-veneered case features an eight-sided, hinged lid with crossbanded edges opening to a vacant, tin-lined interior. There is a central drainage hole with a spigot on the underside. The lid is fitted with a brass knob while the sides are applied with bail handles. The cellarette rises on three splayed, ring-turned legs ending in cylindrical feet. Lalonde Bros. & Parham was an auctioneer and retailer, which operated in England during the early 20th century.
