An original oil painting on panel by listed American artist John Yerger (born 1935) titled Latvia. This realistically rendered trompe l’oeil style still life painting achieves the optical illusion of making the viewer perceive that three-dimensional objects are extending off of the two-dimensional painting. This painting depicts five worn and curled photographs tacked to a wooden board, along with a feather and a cloth bag containing two paintbrushes. The work is signed and dated in the lower right corner ‘John Yerger 1986’. It is presented unframed.
