This wool rug features an arabesque covered field of palmettes and peonies in hues of tan, ecru, beige, sage, powder blue, burgundy and light pink on a cream field. Minor guard border borders of carnations, lilies and meandering vine flank the major Herati border on a deep indigo ground. Overcast selvedge edge in cream and long wool weft fringe complete this Rug Gallery area rug. Maker’s tag to verso.
