Two Miriam Beerman Circa 1970 Gouache Paintings on Paper of Monkeys

A pair of circa 1970 gouache paintings on paper by listed American artist Miriam Beerman (b. 1923). Each piece depicts the somber portrait of a monkey, rendered in earth tone hues and set against a mottled tan ground. The works are signed ‘M. Beerman’ in black ink to the lower margins and presented unframed. The items were produced within a similar timeframe to Beerman’s 1971 The Enduring Beast exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum; more details can be found in ‘Additional Information’ below.

- edge wear with minor bends and creases; scratching and discoloration to unframed paintings.
