Item Details

A trompe l’oeil oil on board floral urn dummy board by an anonymous artist. The piece depicts an ornate urn-style planter with grotesque ‘handles’ and filled with lush flowers, leaves and fruit. The board is cut to the edges to match the shape of the painted work. The unsigned piece includes an easel-back mounting and hanging tab to the verso.

Condition

- wear and chips to edges of board; scuffing, craquelure, paint lift, nicks, stains and discoloration throughout painted surface; oxidation and wear to easel chain.
