A hand-knotted Bijar area rug. This wool rug features a center lozenge with pendants and a herati pattern throughout the lozenge and the field. A primary border offers a samovar pattern with two carnation meander guard borders and a herati pattern on a cream background that surrounds the field. The rug is finished with overcast edges and a natural cotton warp fringe at either end. The rug has brown leather-like straps sewn to the underside to prevent curling. It does not have a marker’s mark or tag attached.
