A hand-knotted Persian Kashan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, sky blue, ivory, saffron, olive, and camel. The cranberry colored field features a central diamond pendant medallion, with coordinating spandrels, along with an abundance of scrolling floral and foliate motifs. Framing the field is an ornate herati patterned border with floral meander guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp fringe to the ends. Labeled.
