NPSK Japanese Scalloped Porcelain Bowl

An NPSK Japanese porcelain bowl done in a European style. This bowl features a shaped, scalloped rim with a turquoise border, gilt acanthus accents, and four hand-painted foliate medallions. The sides of the bowl are ribbed with six transfer-printed vignettes of women in Victorian dress and landscape scenes. Lastly, there is a hand-painted central motif of gilt acanthus cartouches surrounding a turquoise and violet floral medallion. It has an early Nippon, green ‘N.P.S.K’ crown and wreath mark to the bottom.
