An abstract watercolor and gouache painting on paper by listed Taiwanese-born artist Marlene Tseng Yu (born 1937). This piece features an arrangement of thoughtful, painterly washes, rendered in a palette of rust and blackish-brown, a swathe of blue toward the upper right. This piece is signed and dated ‘Tseng 1965’ to its lower edge, and is mounted in a beveled wooden frame with an artist’s statement and a hanging wire to its verso.

- cracquelure to gouache near upper right corner; moderate wear to surface of frame.
