Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Wool Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. This rug is attributed to Indian weavers and rendered in a palette of hunter, brick, camel, emerald, cornsilk, and powder blue. The dark hunter green field features a garden theme with flowering branches and peacocks along with an array of floral motifs. Framing the field is a main stylized herati patterned border with floral and running dog style guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and a natural warp knotted fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
