This forty-eight star United States flag, which was the official flag of the United States from July 4 1912 until July 3, 1949, features thirteen red and white stripes that signify the thirteen colonies and a blue field with forty-eight white stars, one for each state of the union at that time. The flag is marked ‘Valley Forge Flag Co. Spring City, PA. 5 × 9 1/2 Ft.’ to the left side.
