Item Details

A hand-knotted Kurdish Bijar area rug. This wool carpet is hand-knotted in a palette of taupe, deep brown, dove gray, coral-red, and tan. It features an elongated hexagonal medallion with hooked trim on a muted red lozenge patterned with a geometric herati motif. The crenellated gray spandrels have the same herati pattern and it has an interior barber pole guard border. The main border has a modified floral samovar pattern. It has fringe to either end and it is not marked.
