A needlepoint wool area rug. The rug has been hand-stitched using a palette which includes shades of maize, coffee, sage, leaf, pine, peach, pink, coral, blue, lilac, rose, and ivory. The ivory field is populated with large naturalistic renderings of various types of butterflies, bees, and beetles flying among different kinds of blooming plants. The border is composed of two simple maize stripes framing the primary border which is also infilled with flora and fauna including pea pods and large strawberries in the corners nestled among the leaves and vines.
