An oil painting of a shepherd in a pastoral landscape. This carefully rendered work depicts clusters of feathery trees silhouetted against a landscape of green fields and low hazy mountains; a figure in blue pursuing a small flock of recently shorn sheep stands along the left edge of the artwork. It is apparently unsigned. The piece is rendered in a yellowish palette and is presented in a moulded gold tone frame with a wire for hanging to its verso.
Condition
- minor chip in frame at lower left; wear to edges of frame; craquelure throughout painting; toning on painting.
