A mid to late 20th-century East Asian watercolor and gouache painting on silk. The piece depicts two female figures in patterned robes sitting next to a flowering tree and green vegetation while reading from books. The work includes calligraphy in black ink and a red seal to the upper right. It is presented under glass and a patterned silk liner in a gold tone wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

- discoloration to silk; edge wear and dust to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
