Mission Style "Spindle" Rocking Chair by Stickley

A Mission or Arts and Crafts style rocking chair by L. and J.G. Stickley, Inc. The Spindle rocker is part of the Mission collection, made of solid, quarter-sawn oak. It has a center panel of flat slats set close together on the back, which is repeated under the broad, flat armrests. The armrests have a decorative spandrel to the outer front edge, and the block legs are accented by tenon joints a the bottom, near the blades. It has a cream upholstered seat cushion. The Stickley mark is to the inside of the frame.
