Antique Brass Whale Oil Lamp

An antique brass whale oil lamp. This lamp comprises a cup with a spout at the bottom, a spiraling stem, and a flared circular base. The cup and the base are embellished with geometric and fan motif repoussé designs. An oval cut metal hanger attached to the back of the vessel has punched initials which appear to read ‘Jo’ or ‘’Fo’ and a date ‘1761 Anno’.
