An ornate Chinese ceramic Buddha statuette. This piece depicts the Buddha Siddhārtha Gautama. He has one of his hands raised in a gestural blessing. The other hand is open across his lap and lightly holding a small vessel. He is sitting meditative dhyanasana pose. He has a Buddhist swastika in gold tone on his chest which is representative of good fortune and is related to the dharmachakra or dharma wheel which is present in several religions such as Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. This Buddha wears ornate robes with a serene expression, elongated earlobes, a bindi on his forehead, and coiled hair. This decorative piece is unmarked.
