C. 1870s Porcelain Bowls for Davis Collamore & Company

Item Details

A set of five porcelain bowls imported by Davis Collamore & Company c. 1870s. Each is accented with an interlocking gilt band to the rim interspersed with mint green ornaments. These pieces were likely produced by a factory in the Limoges region of France. This was a frequent source for Collamore, who commissioned porcelain for his chain of high end department stores beginning in the mid 1800s. The red underglaze stamp reads ’747 Broadway, indicating a production date in the 1870s.

- to fair; minor chips, various wear to painted and gilt trim, and spots of discoloration.
