A 1965 hand-pulled centerfold lithograph by very well-listed Russian-French Expressionist Marc Chagall (1887 – 1985), titled Homage to Garnier. The print was published in 1965 by André Sauret in the publication Le Plafond de L’Opera de Paris par Marc Chagall by Jacques Lassaigne. It was printed by Mourlot Frères, Paris under the supervision of Chagall himself. The Expressionist print depicts an angel flying above a street scene, carrying a large bouquet of flowers. The print is signed in-plate to the lower right. It is presented behind glass in a black composite frame with a sawtooth hanger attached to the verso. Included in the Catalogue Raisonne, ‘Marc Chagall: The Illustrated Books’ by Patrick Cramer, no. 61.

Condition

- a folding crease to center of print. Print is slighlty buckled. Minor wear to finish of frame.
