An oil painting on canvas of a snowy wooden scene by Louis Spiegel (American; 1901 – 1975). The work depicts a dwelling blanketed in thick snow featuring heavy pigment creating value throughout the work. Dark layered green and black colors depicting trees offset the large abundance of white and cream tones in the painting. To the bottom right the work is signed in paint. The painting is presented in a linen fillet with a wooden frame.
Condition
- some scratches and wear to frame; work could benefit from a cleaning.
