A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of deep indigo, azure, cranberry, emerald, wine, magenta, and cornsilk. The deep indigo colored crenelated filed features a hexagonal pendant medallion with sawtooth edges, along with an array of floral and geometric motifs, the cranberry spandrels are floral filled. Framing the field is a main leaf and medallion meander border with floral meander guard borders. Finishing the rug are overcast selvedges and an extremely short natural warp to the ends. Unlabeled.
