Hand Colored Engraving on Paper "La Sainte Bouteille"
Item Details
A hand colored engraving on paper titled La Sainte Bouteille by the Pellerin in Epinal printing house operated by Jean-Charles Pellerin (French; 1756-1836) created in the 1830’s. The work depicts a whimsical scene with many figures throughout the work. Translating to ‘The Holy Bottle,’ the print is credited to the bottom print margin. The work is presented under glass in a wooden frame.
Condition
- to fair; some scratches and wear to the frame; glass could benefit from a cleaning; paper is creased and has areas of discoloration; some staining to the bottom of the paper; to the verso, protective paper is damaged.
