Hand Painted Japanese Porcelain Bowl

Item Details

A large, hand painted Japanese porcelain bowl. This piece is decorated with polychrome enamels and shows a large blue iris and a Koi fish jumping out of a pond in a palette of iron red and cobalt blue. The border has alternating panels of geometric and floral designs and the exterior features a blue underglaze scrolling design. This bowl is impressed with an unidentified mark to the base.

Condition

-light wear to enamel decoration; faint surface marks present throughout.
