Herschede "Pattern 86" Grandfather Hall Clock

A Frank Herschede Co. Pattern 86 grandfather hall clock. This mahogany case has an arched bonnet, Tuscan columns and is supported on a molded base with bun feet. There is beveled glass to the two sidelight panels and a front door that opens to nine tubular bells, that originally played a Westminster and Whittington chime, two pulleys and an ornate face with an intricate, brass scrollwork overlay and a hand painted moon dial. There are two small side doors that provide access to the mechanicals. It is marked to the back ‘47 86 807.’

Condition
- There is extensive wear to the silvered finish on the dial, there are no keys to properly secure the front and two side doors, and there are minor marks to the finish.
- Does not include weights.
- There are tears to the cloth that is protecting the back opening to the mechanicals.
