Antique Diminutive Asian Desktop Cabinet

Item Details

An antique Asian desktop cabinet, circa late 19th century. This diminutive piece features a plank top over four aligned drawers, an open shelf flanked by two hinged cabinets and three more aligned drawers. All the drawer fronts are embellished with low relief scroll based carvings. The cabinet doors depict carved scenes featuring two figures gathering fruit in a basket under heavily fruited trees. The center open section is surrounded by a carved frame on three sides. The piece is fitted with white ceramic knobs, possibly original, has a worn red painted finish, and rests on a plinth base.
